As part of the anniversary celebration for the late former President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, his son, Kofi Sam Atta Mills is partnering with the Running Mate of the NDC, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, to host a peace walk.
Dubbed the Prof John Evans Atta Mills Peace Walk For Change, it will be held in Cape Coast on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
Kofi Sam Atta Mills is expected to be joined by other big names in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the walk, including the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, among others.
The late former president died on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, and is survived by his wife and a son, Kofi Sam Atta Mills.
It will be recalled that very recently, Kofi Sam Atta Mills joined one of the sons of John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, on a walk at Tamale.
Together with Sharaf Dramani Mahama, the two sons of the two former presidents of Ghana actively participated in the NDC health walk in the Northern Region.
The two sons of the politicians stepping out for such political activities has been described as a new, emerging sight that should be encouraged.
Together with Sharaf Dramani Mahama, the son of John Mahama, they joined the hundreds of sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who walked the streets of Tamale in a bid to show their preparedness towards the December general elections.
The walk also aimed at working towards increasing the voting pattern in favour of the NDC during the pending 2024 general elections, which the party says is a mission to rescue Ghana from the ruling NPP.
Kofi Atta Mills joined the Health Walk in his quest to help galvanize the youth of Ghana to come out in their numbers to increase votes of the NDC and John Dramani Mahama “to reset the country on a good footing.”
It is worth noting too that Mahama served as vice president to the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
This reason also informed the decision by Kofi Atta Mills to join Sharaf Dramani Mahama to embark on the health walk in Tamale.
