Anti-Akufo Addo man, Nana Kofi Coomson, yesterday beat a beeline to the Nima Junction residence of the Akufo-Addos in a last minute bid to make peace with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The Chronicle publisher who had sought in the run-up to last weekend’s NPP congress to make himself a kingmaker with various opinionated commentaries against the candidature of Nana Akufo-Addo was espied by this paper rushing into the Akufo-Addo’s residence to say his ‘mea culpa.’
As luck will have it, Nana Addo was at the same time leaving in a convoy for other engagements and Coomson could be seen pushing his way through like the woman who had the issue of blood and the manner in which she pushed through a milling crowd to touch the cloak of the Lord Jesus Christ to have her healing.
In the end, Coomson got the opportunity when he stopped right by the vehicle Akufo-Addo was riding in; spoke briefly to Akenten Appiah Menka; whilst the driver of the vehicle rolled down the window for Coomson to get the opportunity to greet and acknowledge Nana Akufo-Addo as the man of the moment.
Ever his magnanimous self, Nana Akufu-Addo, momentarily looked surprised at the sudden appearance of Coomson but the quintessential diplomat managed to express his joy and exchanged pleasantries with Coomson before his convoy sped off.
Onlookers could be seen in a mixed show of disdain and joy at the ‘repentance’ of Coomson. Akufo-Addo after his strange encounter was driven in a convoy to his ancestral homes at Akropong and Kyebi respectively.
