Controversial Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has made staggering revelations about the death of former President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills.
According to the outspoken politician, former President John Dramani Mahama who was then the Vice President of Atta Mills had a hand in the death of his predecessor because he (Mahama) on several occasions eyed to be in that position.
Making stern allegations, Abronye DC alleged that Atta Mills’ confidante, Koku Anyidoho, knows about the cause of death of the former president but is unable to speak out because of threats on his life.
Speaking on Oman FM, Abronye alleged that Koku Anyidoho’s silence on the death of Atta Mills is because he fears for his life and is also scared of what Mahama and Stan Dogbe will do to him should he reveal the truth.
Furthermore, Abronye accused Atta Mills’ long time bodyguard, ASP Adadei of aiding Mahama and Stan Dogbe complete the mission of killing the former president; reason he vanished after the death of the president.
According to him, it’s only Mahama and Stan Dogbe who know the whereabouts of the bodyguard, reason he is challenging them to reveal his whereabouts.
Abronye further revealed how the ghost of Atta Mills keeps haunting him to expose the truth to Ghanaians and also tell Koku Anyidoho to do same.
“The very day Atta Mills died, that was the very day the soldier vanished. Atta Mills’ soldier wasn’t present at both the one-week celebrations and funeral of the late president. I always say this, Atta Mills’ ghost is always haunting me to reveal the truth; that Koku Anyidoho should come out publicly to say it but he’s unable to. Koku Anyidoho is scared because he knows who Mahama is so the least mistake he makes, he’ll be eliminated by mafia tactics; he’ll be dead. Koku Anyidoho earnestly wants to speak about the death of Atta Mills but he’s scared of being killed. He’s now an orphan. Atta Mills’ bodyguard left the country within an hour after his death. John Mahama and Stan Dogbe are the only ones who know the whereabouts of the soldier”, he alleged.
Koku Anyidoho in December 2017 in an interview with JoyNews’ Gifty Andoh revealed that there were attempts to ‘bury him alive’ after Mills’ death because people believed “Koku was loyal to President Mills, now that Mills is gone, why should he still be close to power. Let’s cut him off, after all, who is he?”.
According to the Koku Anyidoho who was then the Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), said he stomached a lot especially from elements within his own party for that reason.
However, in February 2019, the former NDC Deputy General Secretary disclosed that details of the circumstances leading to the death of the former President Mills will be published in a book he co-authored with Prof. Kwabena Ahwoi about the life of the late president.
According to Koku Anyidoho, the book which chronicles his political journey will also reveal the cause of his death and he was forced to write the book to put to rest, false accounts over the death of the late president.
The book, which has thoughts of 70 respondents including ex-President Kufuor, as well as family and classmates of the late Mills was supposed to be launched in July to coincide with the 7th anniversary of his passing.
Ahead of the 2012 election, the health of the former President became a major campaign issue which was exploited by the New Patriotic Party. Atta -Mills died on July 24, 2012 and was the first sitting Head of State to die in office in Ghana.
The cause of the death of the late president still remains unknown.
