Koku Anyidoho to contest NDC top post

Koku Anyidoho has finally confirmed that he will run for the Deputy General Secretary position of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) come October.

According to the former Director of Communications at the presidency during Presidents Mills’ administration; “…it is true that I want to contest the Deputy General Secretary position of the NDC when the time comes."

Mr. Anyidoho revealed he would not want to do an official campaign launch but will embark on a vigorous campaign strategy aimed at the grassroots of the party.

“…Since it is out now, I will take the submarine approach, and I am not keen on an official campaign launch. Since it is out, we will move on to the ground and press the right buttons and hopefully, the delegates will consider it because my capabilities are known all in the party,” he said on NEAT 100.9 FM.

This comes on the back of months of speculations as to whether or not the Former Spokesperson for the late President John Evans Atta Mills would actually put himself up for the Deputy Chief scribe position of the NDC, with the latest being a publication by the Daily Dispatch Newspaper.

According to the newspaper, Koku Anyidoho is expected to face a stiff competition from one of the incumbent Deputy General Secretaries, George Lawson as well as Kojo Adu Asare, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Adentan Constituency.

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has scheduled the elections of its National Executive for 24th October this year.
