Konadu and Spio win NDC Vice Chair bid

Delegates at the NDC' s 8th National Delegates Congress in Tamale have elected the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings and Dr Ekow Spio-Garbrah for positions as Vice Chairpersons of the ruling party, confirming Citifmonline.com's earlier prediction that the two were definately going to sail through.

Alhaji Huudu Yahaya; Mr Kofi Portophy and Mr George Tetteh have also been elected for the same position out of the stipulated six.

The delegates also voted massively to retain incumbent General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and serving National Chairman, Dr Kwabena Agyei in their respective positions.

Mr Asiedu Nketia bagged 1,739 votes to beat his challenger, Mr Kweku Esshun, who secured no more than 117 votes out of the total valid votes cast.

Dr Kwabena Agyei had 1,749 votes to hang on to his position, defeating his opponent, Dr. Austin Asamoah Tutu who got only 90 votes.

The Spokesperson of former President Jerry Rawlings, Kofi Adams has also been elected one of two Deputy General Secretaries of the NDC. He bagged 1,094 votes.

He was followed by George Lawson, who has also been elected a Deputy General Secretary of the party. He polled 789 votes.

According to Citi News reporters on the ground Richard Quashigah was elected to replace Deputy Finance and Economic Planning Minister, Mr Fiifi Kwettey as National Propaganda Secretary. He took home 1270 votes.

Mr. Kamel Noshie has been elected National Treasurer with 1,501 votes. He beat Mr. Yusif Abdel Adiss, who polled 350 votes
