Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel, Sam Korankye Ankrah has apologised to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu for the recent death prophecy about him by Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah.

Delivering his first Sunday sermon of the year during church service, visibly disturbed Sam Korankye Ankrah went on his knees and apologised to the Chief Imam on behalf of all Christian bodies in the country concerning the doom prophecies of prominent people by his colleague ‘men of God’.

According to him, death prophecies by these so-called prophets in the country must be disregarded as God’s word does not create fear and panic in people.

Eulogising the Chief Imam, Sam Korankye Ankrah said, “We in Royal House Chapel and I and the leaders of the various Christian bodies who have come to voice out, the Peace Council of Ghana......we want to say we are sorry to the Chief Imam. You have served the Muslim community so well and during your time there has been peace between Christians and Muslims in this country. And at your age almost 100 years or so, I salute your grey hair and I salute your wisdom. Please forgive us; to err is human, please”.

The founder of Royal House Chapel believes, should the Chief Imam die this year as predicted, demise will not be based on the utterances of Rev. Owusu Bempah but rather because he is aged.

He stressed that under no circumstance will he and other discerning Christian bodies endorse the utterances of doom prophets.

“I have served with you on various interfaith committees and commissions and you are such a great man of wisdom and we are asking you to tell your followers that not all of us are in favour of the utterances and we are not endorsing the utterances because they don’t come from God. What comes from God edifies, it brings hope and it brings life and we know that one day you’ll die sir. Even if 2019 you die, you have died serving your people and you’ll die in respect and in honour and in glory. And you’ll die not because of somebody’s utterances but you’ll die because you have finished your work and your assignment,” he said.

He further apologised to the Vice President; Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former President Kufuor and wife and John Dramani Mahama for the recent death prophecies about them.

Wondering why Mahama is still alive despite previous revelations about his death, Sam Korankye Ankrah stressed that many of such prophecies are fake and should be treated as such.

“His Excellency John Mahama I don’t know what to tell you. Every year they say you’ll die, every year but you’re still alive. Sir the hand of the Lord is upon you. But sir, you don’t have to take these utterances for a joke, whilst I say they’re not prophecies as per my teachings they can be curses in the name of revelation. They can be human mind projections in the name of prophecy. It is their wish, you alone for the past 10 years they say every year you have died. You will live long and you’ll fulfil your assignment,” he said.

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah has however taken a swipe at his critics whilst delivering a sermon to address his controversial New Year’s Eve predictions about the death of certain prominent personalities in the country.

According to him, God in the olden days used prophets like Isaiah, Moses to prophesy about the death of people and they never got criticised by others.

He said God only uses him as a vessel to deliver such messages to Ghana as he has no control over such prophecies, adding that anger directed at a prophet of God is also anger at God who is the originator of the messages he reveals.

Background

Reverend Owusu Bempah came under fire after he predicted that some prominent personalities including the Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia and former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Mahama might die in 2019.

A day after his pronouncements, some youth suspected to be Muslims were captured in a Facebook Live video defacing some billboards and posters of the Odorkor branch of his church.

So far, some people have been arrested in connection with the attack on his church.
