Four years ago in the auditorium of then popularly known Accra Chapel, a man with a passion for soulful music and a desire to get young men and women committed to the service of the Creator gave birth to what will become one of the formidable choirs in recent times.
Erasmus Gborgbotsi can best be described as a dedicated Christian with his faith firmly rooted in the scriptures and also singing praises to glorify the Lord. He is the brain behind the dynamic Korle-Bu Youth Choir.
Come Saturday 14th August 2011, the Korle-Bu Youth Choir will be organizing a fundraising concert at the Accra Chapel to raise funds for the purchase of instruments. It is scheduled to commence at 2PM and will feature other choirs aside the host choir.
The Korle-Bu Youth Choir as its name denotes, comprises mainly of students and young people who have a passion for music. From its formation in 2004, the Korle-Bu Youth Choir has ministered to many Ghanaians around the country. They have been phenomenal playing alongside the National Symphony Orchestra at major events. The fifty man choir has also enjoyed appearances at diverse shows at the National Theater and the Accra International Conference Center. Come out on Sunday 14th August 2011 to the Accra Chapel at Korle-Bu in to support a worthy course and also listen to ministrations of classical and choral music.
