Alhaji Ahmed Yahaya Toure, Director of Toure Ventures, was on Saturday installed as “Wuro” (Head) of the Kotokorli community in the Ashanti Region at a colourful ceremony in Kumasi.
Alhaji Toure, 51, succeeded the late Wuro Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Sergeant, who died in July, this year.
A cross section of the leadership of other ethnic groups in the Region and Kotokorlis nationwide attended the ceremony.
Sheikh Abdul Mumin Haroun, Regional Chief Imam, joined the Council of Elders of the community to decorate the new leader.
Chief Imam urged them to cooperate with him and work hard to foster peaceful co-existence among themselves and their neighbours.
Sheikh Haroun advised the new Wuro to liaise effectively and do well to mobilize resources to support the well-being of the members.
He urged them to demonstrate commitment to the growth of their children in the area of education.
Alhaji Toure thanked the Council of Elders of the community for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work hard to support them in their development efforts.
The new Wuro accompanied by the Elders was later introduced to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace.
