Kpandai Assembly confirms DCE

Assembly members of the Kpandai District Assembly on Tuesday voted overwhelmingly to confirm Mr Alfred Donkor, president’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE).

Mr Donkor polled 37 out of the 39 votes cast representing 95 per cent while two members voted against him.

Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Northern Regional Minister cautioned against politics of vindictiveness.

He said those entering into politics because of their personal gains would never succeed, adding: “Don’t always engage in vindictiveness because if God says it is your time no one can change your destiny.”

He said: “When it is not your time don’t spoil the game because you have not won and what I want to tell my colleague politicians is that when the opportunity comes and you fail to win, don’t fight the system since only one person must be there at a time.

“Let us be in politics because we want to help develop the people but if we want to enter politics because of our personal gains or because we want revenge, God will never give us the opportunity.”

Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru gave the assurance that government is committed in working to improve the lives of the people including those in Kpandai.

He said the deplorable roads linking Kpandai and other communities would be worked on and appealed for more votes to retain the National Democratic Congress in power.

He commended the immediate past DCE, Mr Jasper Jato Maoyi for the understanding and the friendly posture he exhibited since his removal.

Mr Donkor thanked the President and Assembly members for the nomination and confirmation and gave the assurance that he would run an open administration to ensure the development of the area.

He said he would be a DCE for all and called for unity to ensure that the district is developed to improve the living conditions of the people.
