Exposes Daily Guide’s Lies
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, has denied ever saying the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been buying votes, as reported in last Monday’s issue of the Daily Guide newspaper.
He told close confidants that the story attributed to him was given to the Daily Guide by the Akufo-Addo faction so that the NDC supporters would attack him (Kufuor).
According to this paper’s sources, former President John Kufuor was not happy about the way and manner the Daily Guide, though, supportive of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) had lied about him, exposing him to all forms of attacks and criticisms.
“My brother, the “old man” (Kufuor) was very angry and has even threatened not to join Nana Addo in any of his campaign platform since he (Nana Addo) and Akyem group had never liked him because of his support for Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, and have always wanted to pay him back”, one of the soul mates told The Informer.
“The former President in some instances goes against the advice of his doctors to join Nana Addo to campaign, yet they are still not satisfied. In fact, if this is the way Nana Addo and his Akyem sect have decided to be embarrassing the “old man”, by asking the Daily Guide to be publishing things he has not said, then it is better he advises himself and see to his health”, the confidant angrily stated.
Also, exposing Madam Gina Ama Blay and her Daily Guide of its yellow journalism, ex-President John Kufuor, in a telephone conversation with Obuoba FM’s Kofi Wusu Ampomah aka “Captain” (host of the morning show) has denied the story as ascribed to him by the aforementioned newspaper, saying it is the paper’s own figment of imagination.
“I never said so as the paper has reported. I only cautioned Ghanaians not to allow themselves for any politician to influence them with money because they want power and never stated that the NDC was buying votes”, ex-President Kufuor indicated.
Those of us on The Informer are not the least surprised about this attitude by the Daily Guide since it is their stock in trade. But what saddens us is the extent to which Gina Blay and the husband had allowed questionable character like A.R. Gomda, (sacked from the Military for a very bad reason) to continue to use their paper to destroy people’s reputation and spewing all manner of lies.
Stay tuned as we bring you the juicy story about the dismissal of A.R. Gomda from the Military. However, below is unedited the Daily Guide’s gargantuan lies about the NDC claiming it was said by former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
NDC BUYING VOTES-Kufuor
THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) Campaign Team, in conjunction with the Ashanti Regional Council of Churches, yesterday held a praise-and-prayer festival at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, asserting that the battle in the December 7 polls is the Lord’s.
Ahead of yesterday’s service, former President John Agyekum Kufuor said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has resorted to desperate vote buying in order to remain in power.
He therefore asked Ghanaians not to allow themselves to be influenced with money ahead of the December 7 elections.
“They are just spending money anyhow. Don’t be influenced with money. Even if you give them 10 more years in addition to the 23years they have spent in government, they will still fail the country”, he said, after worshipping at the Kumasi Central Mosque with NPP’s running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Mr. Kufuor said after NDC’s failed promises, it has resorted to vote buying to avoid defeat. The former President said: “NDC is claiming credit for schools they didn’t build. Also, roads that they did not build, they said they were constructed during their tenure and same applies to hospitals among others.
“We want someone to serve the nation. When the NPP was in power, banks were chasing you with loans. The NDC is now managing the country’s finance without accounting for a penny. They are giving chiefs four-wheeled drives and giving motorbikes to young men in return for their votes.”
