Accra, May 17, GNA - A three-day Cabinet Retreat attended by President John Agyekum Kufuor and Vice President Aliu Mahama is underway at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra.
It comes close on the heels of the recent ministerial reshuffle that saw some key Ministers shifted to new positions and others dropped. President Kufuor, in brief remarks before they went into serious business, said the Government wanted to reset its sight and pursue its development agenda with renewed vigour.
"We are a renewed Government. We want to reset our sight, so that we pursue our agenda with renewed vigour and focused vision." President Kufuor did not touch on what they would be discussing since, as he put it, "Cabinet is a conclave".
However, he hinted that it would be three days of continuous work and they would be working around the clock.
President Kufuor could not hide his admiration for the facilities provided at GIMPA for the hosting of such retreats, saying, they could compare with what was available in any part of the world. He was optimistic that the period Government had retired from the Castle to the quiet of GIMPA would be productive and congratulated the Rector of the Institute, Professor Stephen Adei for building the facility. 17 May 06
