Kufuor to host Ghana Investors Advisory Council Meeting

President John Agyekum Kufuor would host the second Ghana Investors Advisory Council (GIAC) meeting in Accra on Monday, November 11.

A statement signed by Barbara B-W Dotse, Co-ordinator of the Council, said the meeting is expected to review the action points identified during its inauguration in May 2002.

It would also continue with the process of harnessing both national and international corporate experience in formulating strategies on how to make Ghana the Number One Investment location for investors.

The GIAC is a small informal group of high-level, leading local and international businesspersons who make investment decisions for their companies.

The statement said the GIAC meets exclusively with President Kufuor twice a year and focuses on a small number of issues at the request of the President and tables solutions to these issues, which aim at attracting both local and foreign direct investment into Ghana.

GIAC was established by the President with the support of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank, not only to highlight the investment potential of Ghana but also to recognise the important strides that Ghana has made in its pursuit of investor-friendly policy reforms.
