Kumasi: Bread seller crushed by car as she fought over Ghc1

A 20-year-old bread hawker on the streets of Kumasi was crushed to death by a car Thursday morning, as she fought a rival bread seller over Ghc1.

The deceased, Azumah Ayina, was pushed onto the road by her nemesis, Manuella, 30, as they struggled over the change at a Metro mass transport bus terminal near Abrepo Junction.

The two hawkers, according to XYZ News’ Ashanti regional Correspondent, Isaac Bediako Justice, were not on talking terms, prior to the incident.

They locked horns after a male customer, who already had a Ghc1 change with Manuella from a previous transaction, asked Manuella to give that change to the deceased, after he had bought bread from her Thursday.

An eyewitness told Bediako Justice that the deceased drew first blood by hitting Manuella, who, in anger, pushed Azumah onto the road as a vehicle approached.

Azumah was killed instantly after getting run over by the vehicle.

The body has been deposited at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Manuella has been handed over to the Suame Divisional police command.
