Commercial drivers in Kumasi in the Ashanti region are demonstrating over what they term as persistent harassment by the Police.
The drivers are accusing the police of extortion and unwarranted arrests.
Some of the angry drivers told XYZ News they will demonstrate until the city authorities address their concerns.
According to them, they have parked their vehicles and will only resume work when they get assurances that the Police will stop harassing them.
The situation has compelled passengers to walk long distances to get to their destination.
Their mother union, the Ghana Private Roads and Transport Union (GPRTU) is expected to meet the aggrieved drivers and later address the media.
