Tragedy strikes in the Ashanti Region as a devastating accident at Suame-Maakro claimed the lives of four people, including three women and a man, in a gruesome accident that has left a community in shock and mourning.

Eleven others sustained severe injuries and are receiving treatment at the Tafo Government Hospital.

Some eye witnesses in an interview with OTEC News News said the Burkina-Bound cargo car, with registration number WR-184-N, crashed into the Urvan bus, registered as AS-3600-17, which had 15 passengers on board.

They added that the Urvan bus had stopped to refuel at a gas station and was attempting to rejoin the main road when the accident occurred.

Two people died at the scene, while the other two were pronounced dead at the hospital.

Asona Kwadaso-Wusu, a student journalist at OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies who reported from the scene said the police have taken over the scene and are investigating the cause of the accident.

The incident according to him has left the community in shock, with police searching for the families of the victims.
