Kumasi Maternal and Child Health Hospital receives gifts

The Kumasi Maternal and Child Hospital has been presented with assorted items in support of the upkeep of the in-patients.

These included clothing, fruit drinks, bags of sachet water and toiletry.

They were a gift from the youth of the New-Tafo Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church.

The group, additionally, paid the insurance premium for registration of 35 children on admission at the facility for the national health insurance scheme (NHIS).

Elder Nana Amaning Kwarteng, Head of the Home and Family Life Department of the Church, said it was not only preoccupied with the spiritual growth of the people but equally interested in taking care of their physical needs and welfare.

It would therefore continue to be associated with efforts at helping to bring comfort and hope to the sick and the needy.

Mrs. Martina Nawaale, Accountant of the Hospital, thanked the church for the gesture.

The facility was established in year 1910 to provide care for malnourished children. It has now been upgraded into a district hospital.
