Kumasi got First IVF quadruplets

The Trustcare Specialist Hospital and Fertility Centre in Kumasi on Friday cut a slice of medical history for itself, delivering a set of quadruplets through in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

The babies, three males and a female, together with their 42-year old mother, are reportedly doing well.

The delivery is the first of its kind outside Accra - Tema.

The overjoyed mother, who has been married for 14 years without a child, says “she simply cannot stop expressing her thanks to God and the staff of Trustcare Fertility Centre”.

The pioneer assisted-reproductive technology centre in Kumasi, in press release signed by Isaac Kofi Adu, clinical embryologist, said it had within the past three years delivered a number of multiple pregnancies.

It said to make IVF treatment affordable, the centre is collaborating with the Association of Childless Couples of Ghana (ACCOG) and “Walking Egg Organization” in Belgium, to bring low cost technology but effective IVF services to Ghana.

The release expressed gratefulness to God for giving them high IVF success rate and their consultants, who have been helping them in offering the services.
