Kwabena Donkor recounts his time in office as Power Minister

The former Energy minister in the past John Mahama-led administration has revealed that the race to end the power cuts in the country caused him dearly.

Dumsor, which is a term that was coined to represent the frequent power cuts the country caused the former minister to become ill with High Blood Pressure and Diabetes.

The former minister added that he was in a perfect health state before he accepted the appointment as minister.

He narrated days on which when all he would her over the radio were insults directed at him for not being able to solve the load-shedding that the nation had been plunged into since 2012.

Speaking in an interview with Lexis Bill, the former power minister indicated that the power crisis was a huge burden on himself and that of his government.

He indicated that he could barely sleep because the president could call him as early as 2 A.M due to the erratic power cuts.

Dr. Kwaben Donkor who resigned from his appointment as Energy Minister indicated that it was the most honorable thing to do bearing in mind that even some NDC functionaries did not believe him when he came out to declare that load-shedding had ended.

Even though he did not complete the tenure with the president, Dr. Donkor indicated that the energy crisis was resolved by him and his team.

Dr. Kwabena Donkor resigned as Minister of Energy on 31st December, 2015, spending less than a year in office. He added that his decision to resign was to save him from constant insults on the media.
