Kwahu chiefs call on President Eyadema

Aflao (V/R), July 21, GNA- Nana Kweku Asiedu, a sub-chief of Obo Kwawu in the Eastern Region, at the weekend described the cordial relations between the Ghanaian and Togolese political leadership as a 'model on which the sub-region must be built'.

He was speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Aflao at the head of a delegation of chiefs of Obo-Kwawu to Lome where they paid a courtesy call on President Gnassingbe Eyadema.

Nana Asiedu said the delegation of seven congratulated President Eyadema on his re-election for another five-year term. He said the close collaboration between the leadership of Ghana and Togo was building a bridge of lasting peace between the two countries and their peoples.

Nana Asiedu said their visit to President Eyadema was on behalf of Nana Yeboah Afari Obuagyan II, Chief of Obo-Kwawu. He said President Eyadema touched on his relations with President J

A Kufuor during their discussions and hoped that Ghanaians would co-operate with him to achieve the goals he had set for them.

He commended the Togolese President's high regard for chieftaincy and wished him well.

There is a large Kwawu community in Lome and other big towns in Togo who are engaged mainly in trade and commerce.
