Kwahu students offer free tuition

Kwahu-Nsaba, July 22, GNA - The National Union of Kwahu Students (NUKS), comprising 32 students from four public universities, have offered a six-week free tuition to basic and second-cycle schools at Nkawkaw in the Kwahu South District.

They were drawn from the University of Ghana, Legon, University of Education, Winneba, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of Cape Coast.

Some of the beneficiary schools were: Fodoa L/A, Kofi Dede L/A, Ampakrom L/A, Nkawkaw Anglican School, Simisi Anglican Junior Secondary Schools, Winners Commercial School and the Modern College of Commerce. Mr Seth Adjei Baah, Managing Director of Shaba Limited, and independent parliamentary candidate, for the area, in the 2004 polls, sponsored the programme.

He recalled that the Club undertook a similar programme in the area, last year to supplement Government's effort in improving standards of education.

The vice-president of the club, Mr Eugene Aboagye, expressed the hope that the programme would encourage the children in the area to study hard to enhance the standard of education.
