Kwahus in Holland donates to Hospital

Atibie (E/R), Aug. 11, GNA - The Kwahuman Association of the Netherlands, a benevolent society of Kwahu citizens resident in Holland, at the weekend donated five million cedis to the Government Hospital at Atibie, towards the celebration of the Hospital's 50th anniversary. Presenting the money to the authorities of the Hospital, Ms Victoria Denkyi, the Mother of the Association, said the gesture was in response to an appeal for assistance by the Hospital towards the celebration.

She said the Association was obliged to contribute towards the improvement of health in the area.

Mr Samuel Acheampong, Treasurer of the Group, said it had already presented hospital beds, wheel chairs and other medical equipment to the Hospital to enable it to provide good services.

He gave the assurance that Kwahus resident in Holland would continue to contribute to the development of the Hospital.

Receiving the money on behalf of the Hospital, Nana Adarkwa Boadi Yiadom II, Chief of Kwahu Praso and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hospital, commended the Association for the assistance and urged other Kwahus resident abroad to contribute to the development of the area.

He appealed to philanthropists and organisations to assist the Hospital to build bungalows for doctors and nurses and acquire vehicles and medical equipment to facilitate health delivery.
