Kwakwaduam Association of New York donates to the EBOLA effort in Guinea

The Kwakwaduam Association of New York has donated a check for $500.00 (Five hundred USD) towards the EBOLA effort in Guinea.
The presentation was made on behalf of the Kwakwaduam by Mr. Mark Saforo and Joyce Reid (President and Vice President respectively of Kwakwaduam) to The President of the Association des Jeunes de Mamou, of Guinea, Mr. Sow Amadou.
This in response to a plea by the Association des Jeunes de Mamou for help in combating the devastating impact of EBOLA on the daily lives of the people of Guinea particularly the town of Mamou. Mr Amadou Sow lamented that while the international effort has concentrated on the provision of PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) there has been tremendous disruption of the daily lives of the people and essentials like food and water and movement has become a problem.
He said he was reaching out to Kwakwaduam Association Inc because he was aware of the profound track record of the progressive projects the Kwakwaduam is doing in Ghana and their penchant of helping in times of need. He recalled that Kwakwaduam had responded to the Haiti crisis in a similar fashion.
Commenting on the Donation, Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo a Consultant to Kwakwaduam suggested that immigrants from West Africa needed to educate themselves to deal with the onslaught of stigmatization that has come with the EBOLA outbreak in West Africa. He said it was in that respect that Kwakwaduam had organized the lecture of EBOLA delivered by Dr. Baah Asante.
Dr. Asante said that we are scared because the case fatality ratio of Ebola is high but that common sense must prevail instead of fear mongering. He said according to the WHO, EBOLA has killed about 5000 people to date in West Africa and he admonished the leadership to be proactive in combating EBOLA
Kwakwaduam is a Non Profit Organization whose mission is a non Profit Organization, is to foster close social, cultural, economic inter-relationships between its members, the community and to organize activities aimed at improving same as well as the quality of lives of the people living in Akropong in particular and Ghana in general.
