Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Poku delivered an outstanding performance to help Peterborough United secure an away win over Shrewsbury Town in English League One.

The 23-year-old was handed a starting role as his team cruised to an emphatic 4-1 win over their opponents at the New Meadow.

The Ghanaian attacking midfielder registered his name on the scoresheet twice for Peterborough as they staged a comeback to secure an emphatic win.

Carl Winchester opened the scoring for Shrewsbury Town after 21 minutes, but Poku responded two minutes later as the game ended 1-1 at half-time.

The visitors dominated the second half, scoring three additional goals to snatch all points.

Poku scored for the second time in the 58th minute to put his team in front before Joel Randall cemented the victory with a late brace.

The Ghanaian midfielder has been in devastating form for Peterborough since joining them in the summer of 2021.

The talented winger is expected to play a pivotal role for the club as they eye promotion to the English Championship.

Meanwhile, compatriot Charles Sagoe Jr was handed his Shrewsbury Town debut after coming on in the second half, replacing Harrison Biggins with 20 minutes remaining.
