Kweku Baako Flops Again

The last time many Ghanaians heard of Kweku Baako Jnr., he was making a very funny and pathetic apology on air after he and his newspaper tried to deceive Ghanaians into believing that NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo met UK Prime Minister, David Cameron at a private meeting at Number 10 Downing Street.

In that infamous publication, Kweku Baako of CNTCI fame claimed that, that the meeting really took place is captured by the fact that what transpired had been posted on the UK government’s official website, the address which he gleefully published in his newspaper, The New Crusading Guide.

But as it turned out, the address was a private website address!

Caught pants down lying through his teeth, Kweku Baako came out with an apology which would make any right thinking person want to puke. Whining all over, he blamed his “boys’ for the ‘mistake’. In summary, he never really took responsibility for the false publication.

As if choosing this path of ignominy is not enough, Mr. Kweku Baako is in the news again once more trying to score cheap political points for his desperate flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo by attempting to instigate Andanis against a Deputy Minister for Information, Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa. Yesterday’s publication of his newspaper, TheNew Crusading Guide, ran the bold banner headline “I WON’T APOLOGISE…Ablakwa calls the bluff of Andani Youths”. As fate will have it, however, the story which was to be on pages 3 & 4 was nowhere to be found when one turns to those pages. This of course, can be attributed to the usual printer’s devil. But, the aim of the story that-never-was is obvious; to turn Andanis against the young Deputy Minister following his call on some claiming to be Andani Youths not to stampede the Mills government in the matter of justice for the murdered Ya Na.

The fallouts of the call by a section of the Andani youth for the NDC not to come to campaign in the Northern region, the response by the Deputy Information Minister and the counter response by the Andani group is the hemlock Kweku Baako has gathered believing he can create disaffection with it among Andanis towards the Deputy-Minister.

However, some Andanis who have seen through Kweku Baako’s inferior tactics and who spoke to this newspaper are amused by the editor’s interest in this case since he has never shown any will towards finding the killers of the slain Ya Na.

“Kweku Baako has over the years yelled about the need to find the killers of the three High Court Judges and the retired army officer (as if they have not been found already). He has made so much noise about justice for Utuka, Acheampong, Afrifa and co but when it comes to the Ya Na, he is found wanting for obvious reasons. His latest interest in this matter vis a vis the tango between Okudzeto and some Andani Youths is therefore interesting” Gilbert Andani from the Andani family told this newspaper. Another member of the Andani gate, Ali Alhassan Andani told this newspaper that in any case, comments Okudjeto-Ablakwa is alleged to have made about the conduct of those Andanis who want to blackmail the Mills government in this matter is not different from what one of their elders, Andani Mahama, made recently.

Countering comments made by an earlier Andani group that they will note vote for the NDC if the killers of the Ya Na are not apprehended, Andani Mahama, a brother of the slain King and Secretary of the Andani Youth Association said Andanis still had confidence in the Mills government and that it was wrong for some youths purporting to belong to the gate to threaten the government for not yet finding the killers. Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa in his response to the earlier threat said government was serious in finding the murderers of the Ya Na but won’t allow itself to be blackmailed in the search (for the murderers). Obviously, Kweku Baako’s interest is not in finding those who murdered the great king. His interest is simply to turn the Andanis against the Deputy-Minister and by extension, the NDC to shore up the floundering campaign of his preferred choice for President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Unfortunately for Kweku Baako, aka Mr. Document, aka Mr. CNCTI , aka Mr. UK govt website, this plot has failed even before it begins!
