Kwesi Botwe replaces PV Obeng as Chair of NDPC

A former finance minister, Dr Kwesi Botwe, has been nominated by President John Mahama as chair of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC).

The former PNDC secretary for finance takes over from the late PV Obeng who died of Asthmatic attack in May this year.

Dr. Botchwey who is Ghana’s longest serving finance minister is currently the Board Chairman of the Ghana National Gas Company.

The president has also appointed Dr. Nii Moi Thompson as acting Director-General of the NDPC. Until his appointment, Dr. Thompson was an Economic Adviser to the President.
