The President of Policy Think Tank IMANI Africa, says he believes every word of Chairman of the Ghana Football Association in the latest Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposé on corruption in football.

Franklin Cudjoe believes it will be foolhardy on the part of anyone who dismisses claims by Kwasi Nyantakyi that politicians, including the president can easily be corrupted with the right amount of money as bribe.

The out of favour GFA boss made some damning allegations against President Akufo-Addo, Veep Bawumia and other politicians of the NPP administration in the documentary titled no 12.

He alleged that Akufo-Addo had sold most of his property to finance the 2016 election and as a result was broke. Nyantakyi said he had been reliably informed by Anthony Karbo, the Deputy Roads and Highways Minister, that given Akufo-Addo's dire financial situation, he would greatly appreciate a $5 million dollar "gift" and in turn approve lucrative contracts for Nyantakyi and his team.

The allegations have not gone down well with the seat of government. The President after watching excerpts of the exposé ordered the arrest of the embattled GFA boss. He is currently on bail as investigations into his claims continue. In a Facebook post, Franklin Cudjoe, who has in recent times been leading the criticism of a government contract with KelviGVG, said Mr. Nyantakyi’s words are a vindication of the position of many civil society groups that government contracts do not go through the proper procurement processes.

It is also proof that government contracts are heavily inflated and doled out to cronies who are ready to dash out kickbacks to politicians.

Mr Cudjoe lashed out at people who have taken to traditional and social media to defend politicians named by the GFA boss, warning that the dire consequences of the corruption they defend will bite hard at themselves and their kith and kin.

“You will be a useful idiot if you do not believe Nyantakyi. So go on. Keep shielding your elite politicians and follow them around and keep arguing on social media on their behalf…when your sick relative can’t find an ambulance to save his or her life, remember that it is that $178M you endorsed to be freely awarded to some of your kind that caused the untimely demise of your loved ones”. He wrote.

In what could be described as inviting hell on such defenders, Franklin Cudjoe prayed for God’s punishment on them.
