Former Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh has taken on the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu over claims that the minority side is being remote-controlled by the former Speaker of Parliament.
“I think we have had enough of his insults. He is someone I respect so much but he should not make it appear as if he is the only sensible person in Parliament. Does he want to say we do not have senses on our own to reason for ourselves and take good decisions”, he asked?
He observed that the comments of the senior lawmaker are laced with disrespect and abuse saying he will prefer he apologizes to the minority for his insulting comments.
“We were voted for from our respective constituencies. Does he want to say our constituents voted for unreasonable people? He needs to start respecting us and not go about insulting the minority when we have raised genuine concerns about bias shown by the speaker towards us”, he explained.
But Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu insists former Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho is remote-controlling the minority side in parliament reason for their recent actions.
He says he is particularly at a loss as to why he will be seeking to take control of proceedings in the house through the minority when his tenure as speaker of the house has expired since the national Democratic Congress (ND) was voted out of power.
“In the case of the Ayariga he played a role. I wonder what his interest is in the matter because it appears he even calls some them on telephone and tell them what to do”, he revealed on Okay Fm.
