Senegal players hope to celebrate today Senegal players hope to celebrate today

Our second game of the day features Africa reps Senegal and Asian giants Japan.

Japan and Senegal face off with both sides very much aware that a win today guarantees them a place in the 1/16th stage.

Senegal and Japan were the lowest ranked teams in Group H but they punched above their weights and got victories against Poland and Columbia respectively.

But today they come up against each other with each side determined to make their last group game a mere formality by getting the three points at stake today.

Senegal have Liverpool’s Sadio Mane’s in their fold and how well he plays today will be crucial to their course this afternoon.

Coach Aliou Cisse has no injury worries from his last game and is expected to maintain the squad that gave him victory against Poland.

Japan will have to make a decision on inspirational captain Keisuke Honda's who had a minor thigh injury in their win over Columbia.

This will be the fourth meeting between Japan and Senegal, with the African side unbeaten in the previous three.

No Asian nation has ever won both of their opening two games at a World Cup tournament before and Senegal will hope to ensure the continuity of this trends.

The game starts at 3:00 PM GMT and we will be bringing you live text commentary.
