Manchester United can put one foot in the knockout stages of the Champions League with victory at Benfica tonight.
United have picked up maximum points from their two games so far in Group A, meaning a minimum of four points from their double header against Benfica would be enough to almost guarantee their passage through to the last 16.
United have reached the knockout stages in 16 of their previous 20 Champions League appearances, however, they haven't made it past the group stages since 2013/14.
Benfica currently sit third in the Portuguese league, losing just one of their eight games. However, their Champions League form has been underwhelming, suffering defeats CSKA Moscow and Basel.
Manchester United will be without Eric Bailly, Michael Carrick, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba for the Champions League clash at Benfica.
Centre-back Bailly missed the weekend draw at Liverpool with an unspecified knock sustained on international duty with the Ivory Coast, while injury setbacks also mean Carrick and Fellaini remain sidelined along with fellow midfielder Pogba.
