Hello good evening and welcome to another night of UEFA Champions League football. As you can tell, the boys are gradually being separated from the men.
Last night Real Madrid proved once again that they are masters of this tournament as they brushed aside PSG 5-2 on aggregate to reach the quarter-final of competition.
Tonight two other teams will fall along the way while the other two will progress as English Premier League side Tottenham host Italian giants Juventus while Man City are home to Basel.
Tottenham now stand at a crossroads. The opening 10 minutes in Turin in the first leg of their Champions League tie laid bare their worst frailties. However, the rest of the game showed Mauricio Pochettino’s side in all their glory.
If Spurs can replicate that resurgent, confident and controlling performance when they host the Old Lady at Wembley tonight, one mighty step towards that top echelon of European sides will have been taken.
It’s arguably the biggest game of the Pochettino era at Tottenham.
Elsewhere, Manchester City have qualification to the Champions League quarter-finals all but confirmed as they welcome FC Basel to the Etihad Stadium tonight.
The Premier League champions-elect won 4-0 in Switzerland three weeks ago, with goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero.
Pep Guardiola can afford to rotate his squad, with Yaya Toure hoping to make just his second appearance in two months after an EFL Cup Final cameo, while the visitors will look to avoid a second hammering.
Stay with us for all the updates…… All the games kick off at 7:45 GMT.
