The capital is at a standstill as the ultimate celebration of music, 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA 2019) is currently live at the Accra International Conference Centre plays.

Its a night where all the guess works, speculations concerning who wins what comes to rest as winners of the various categories grab their awards at the biggest event on the entertainment calendar in the country.

Of course, everyone is waiting with bated breath to know who takes over from the late Ebony Reigns as Artiste of the Year and also who goes home with the bragging rights as the Artiste of the Decade.

In addition to rewarding hardworking artists, the VGMA has also come to be known as one of the events that see patrons dressed to the nines and this year promises to be no different.

Tonight's event is scheduled to start at 7 pm with a red carpet segment hosted by radio and television presenter Giovanni Caleb and actress Sika Osei.

The glitzy event will be laced with music performances. VGMA 2019 will be a night where the 4s—Sarkodie, Samini, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy rock the stage alongside the 4Ks—Kuami Eugene, Kwesi Arthur, KiDi and King Promise.

That is not all, patrons have been asked to brace up for a major nostalgic moment with legends Abrantee Amakye Dede, and Barima Sydney.

Also mounting the stage at VGMA 2019 are Medikal and Gospel musician, Diana Hamilton.

Of course there will be international touch with Burnaboy from Nigeria, Queen of Soca, Alison Amanda Hinds from Barbados and South African rapper, songwriter and record producer, Cassper Nyovest.

According to George Quaye, Communications Director at Charterhouse, organizers of the event, it is going to be a great night.

“We have added other categories so that other genres and people will have the chance to be celebrated. It will be great; there will be music, merry making among others", he said.
