In what has become usual of the current dispensation, the Ministry of Information is holding another press briefing to update Ghanaians on the nation's fight against the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Today’s edition of the Ministers Press Briefing as it is called will provide updates on governments locally produced Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPEs) for COVID-19 response, electricity rebates, as well as an update on Ghana’s COVID-19 recoveries and testing measures.
As of April 14, 2020, at 23:00HRS, a total of 50,719 persons have been tested with 641 being positive for COVID-19 in Ghana. The breakdown of the 641 positive cases are as follows: 83 of the infected persons have recovered from the virus.
548 cases have been categorised as mild disease and are on treatment, two (2) are categorized as moderate to severe cases, none are currently in a critical state and eight (8) have died.
As part of measures to tackle the spread of COVID-19 government has adopted several policies including a partial lockdown on some hotspot areas, with a nationwide ban on social gathering imposed.
Government has also sought to provide relief for citizens by announcing a rebate on electricity as well as a free supply of water for the months of April, May and June.
