Parliament's Appointments Committee on Friday vetted the Chief Justice designate Sophia Akuffo in an intense 8 hour drill. Justice Sophia Akuffo has been nominated by the President to succeed out going Chief Justice Georgina Wood. If approved, she will be the second female Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana. Justice Sophia Akuffo is an experienced member of the judiciary with more than 3 decades of practice.

How do MPs, pass a law for mandatory payments for vehicle towing in 2013 and signed into law in 2016, explain the sudden turn around to punch holes into that same law alleging that it isn't in the interest of the public? How come details they allege are fraudulent weren't pointed out till now when the law is expected to take effect from July. The law seems to be relevant but must it be thrown away because there are fraudulent aspects?
