Panelists on this weekend’s edition of News file are likely to tackle issues including the blacklisting of indigenous names from the Births and Deaths registry resulting in Parliament summoning the minister.

Also up for discussion will be the tussle between government and the University of Ghana over the $217m Medical Centre. Cabinet has directed the Health Ministry to take over the facility but minority in Parliament disagree and has asked government to cease interfering.

The issue of security is still up for discussion as a police officer lost his life earlier this week during an attack on the Kwabenya Police station. Seven criminals escaped from the station's cell during the attack but five of them have been rearrested with the police seriously in search of the remaining two.

The status of ex Guantanamo Bay prisoners being given refugee statuses by the previous government has raised a lot of flags and will also be up for discussion on today's show.

These issues, among others, will be dissected in this weekend's edition of Newsfile on Joynews.
