Labourer remanded for defiling nursing mother

A labourer, accused of defiling a 15-year old nursing mother at Agbogboloshie on Thursday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court charged with defilement.

Daniel Ogyadu Ansah, who denied the offence, has been remanded into prison custody to reappear before the court presided over by Ms Sedina Agbemava on July 31.

Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Adiza Sulemana said the complainant is a trader who lives with the victim at Ofankor.

According to prosecution, Ansah resides at Agbogboloshie, whiles the victim is a mother of one year old baby and sells meat pie at Achimota.

ASP Sulemana said on June 18, this year, the victim left home to sell her meat pie but failed to return to the house.

The complainant searched everywhere for the victim but to no avail and reported the matter to the Police at Mile Seven.

According to prosecution on June 22, this year, the victim was spotted sitting in front of Ansah’s room. She was apprehended and handed over to the Police at Mile Seven.

During interrogation, the victim said the accused person was her boyfriend, adding that, she had been with him for the past four days during which they had several rounds of sex.

ASP Sulemana said due to the age of the victim, the accused person was arrested.
