Jacob Osei Yeboah (2012), the only Independent Presidential Candidate in the 2012 elections has been added to the unending tall list of unsuspecting Ghanaians who get their buildings pulled down on daily basis as a result of machinations by some unscrupulous Police officers, estate agents and officials of the Lands Commission.
One estate agent who is steadily gaining notoriety in the area of inducing those unprofessional officers is one Ibrahim Sibie who allegedly goes around using the names of President John Mahama and his brother, Ibrahim Mahama to intimidate landlords.
According to some of the victims, Ibrahim goes around boasting that he is a relative of the first family but checks by The New Crusading GUIDE has revealed that he is not related to the Mahama family making it a possible case of an imposter.
Late last year, under the protection of some Police Officers, Ibrahim led bulldozers to pull down the uncompleted building at Agyiriganor, a suburb of Accra which belonged to JOY2012. According to checks by this paper, the Police, without any court order was instructed by one Police Officer, David Adongo to move to the site to supervise the demolition. A Police vehicle with registration number GP 2631 could be seen patrolling on the site while the demolition was ongoing.
The demolition was the second one Mr. Osei Yeboah had suffered as acres of land belonging to him at the Aviation site at Madina was also forcibly taken away from him.(The New Crusading GUIDE will delve into this matter in the near future).
According to documents in possession of this paper, on June 23, 2010, the Acting Director of the Survey and Mapping Division of the Lands Commission wrote a letter to the Lands Registration Division to ascertain whether the said land at Agyirganor belonged to either Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah or one Charles B. Bortei-Doku. The Director wrote that letter because according to the office had received two applications for a site plan to be made on the same piece of land and so wanted clarity.
The second claimant, Charles Bortei-Doku on August 7, 2013 wrote a letter to the Land Registration Division assigning his consent to Jacob Osei Yeboah and Mrs. Hilda Osei Yeboah and asking the office to prepare a parcel plan for the couple. All that while, Ibrahim was not in the picture.
Out of the blue, on July 31, 2014, the Survey and Mapping Division wrote another letter this time claiming that, “During the process of preparing the composite plan, it was realized that the 3rd claimant also form part of the conflict”.
The 3rd claimant is I-Sibie Company Ltd but what is causing stir is, where was this company or entity in 2010 when the first letter of June 23, 2010 was authored by the same Survey and Mapping Division asking both applicants involved to be invited to determine the lawful owner?
