Accra, Nov. 20, GNA - The Ghana@50 National Planning Committee has set aside the last Saturday of every month until the December 2007 as Greening Ghana Day.
A statement signed by the Public Affairs Officer of the Planning Committee, Mr Henry Wellington Okyne said next Saturday distinct groups in the districts would be required to grow 50 trees at their chosen sites.
He said the Day would also afford groups that planted trees in their localities during the maiden event the opportunity to nurture the trees planted.
Mr Okyne appealed to public agencies as well as the private sector to support and participate fully in the exercise.
He also advised groups that want to participate in the Greening Ghana initiative to contact the Project Manager on 021-763807 or 0246495936.
