Lawlessness has become order of the day in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi since New Patriotic Party (NPP) took power from the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for the past six months.

“Law and order has broken down in the city under this government”, the immediate past Presiding Member (PM) of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Nana Kofi Senya stated.

“Everyone is doing whatever he or she likes without showing respect to the authorities at KMA. …people are now building without permits,” he bemoaned on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM asking the city authorities to be up and doing.

The Assembly man for Suame Electoral Area in the metropolis concerns come when motorists and other road users have complained and calling for decongestion exercise on the ceremonial streets of the metropolis to save looming accidents.

Meanwhile, the Metro Engineer for the Assembly, Mr. Emmanuel Anderson warned private developers to stay away from building unauthorized places indicating developers and owners will be soon hauled before court if they fail to adhere.

He explained to mynewsgh.com that several lorry terminals and markets constructed by private entities are now posing threat to traders and sellers hinting of plans to pull them down before any calamity befalls the nation.
