Axim (W/R), July 7, GNA - Mr Sagary Nokoe, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Evalue-Gwira constituency in the 2000 general elections has resigned from the party.
In a letter to the Western Regional Chairman of the Party dated June 27 this year, Mr Nokoe who is a lawyer, said, "I have this day firmly resigned from the NPP, Evalue-Gwira Constituency branch, which I have laboured in vain to build into a local party second to none".
He said, "Your executive hate rural-based academicians, professionals and constitutionalist and you do not honestly appreciate the sacrifices of rural-based enablers, activists, mediators, initiators and polling station strategists and facilitators".
It stated that, "You have institutionalised the Evalue-Gwira constituency party as corn for a deviant red cockerel and now the CPP is strong but demoralised and the NPP is next to an invigorated National Democratic Congress (NDC)".
Mr Nokoe said he had applied for the memberships of the NDC, which he described as a "Credible political party that gave Ghana a social democratic constitution that has become the envy of the democratic world".
He said, "I honestly believe that the new NDC transformed by history and experience and the lessons of the past would assume executive power and Parliamentary dominance in 2008" and stressed his determination to play a "critical role to lubricate and maintain the current momentum".
