The raging controversy over the management of the East Dadekotopon Development Trust at La in Accra continues to deepen as a lawyer for the trust, Samuel Laud Nsia Akuetteh has been fired.

A letter dated November 28, 2017, reference number EDDT/OTG/VOL1/1128 and addressed to Lawyer Nsiah Akuetteh who was counsel for the trust which authority has also been questioned, failed to disclose reasons he has been relieved of his services.

But excerpts of the letter intercepted and signed by one Nii Kpobi Tetteh Tsuru III who is the Board Chairman and La Manste read:’ The Board of Trustees of the East Dadekotopon Development Trust hereby serves you notice to cease to act as lawyer on behalf of the trust

It is our expectation that you will cease to represent or purport to act for or on behalf of the East Dadekotopon Development Trust or hold yourself out as lawyer for the Trust”

Meanwhile, information picked by this portal indicates that there is a raging confusion between the old and new trustees of the board

While the old Executive Board of Trustees are challenging the appointment of the new Board members, and therefore have vowed they would not vacate, the new Board is insisting on its legitimacy and has vowed to take absolute control of the Trust irrespective of a court ruling that declared the activities of the trust null and void.

Documents available points to the fact that on 7th December 2010 an Accra High Court, presided over by Justice K.A, Ofori- Atta gave judgment for the Ataa Tawiah Tsinaiatse Family and the Numo Ofoli Kwashie families which stated that the trust was operating illegally and its activities characterized by alleged fraud and maintained the land belongs to the family.

After the 2010 judgment, several other judgments have come from the courts affirming family ownership. 0 Meanwhile the Defence Minister, Dominic Nitiwul has also made it clear the land that the TRUST is trying to take from the family truly belongs to the family.

Already the Ghana Armed Forces have started negotiation with the family head on how to acquire the un-encroached portions of the said lands.
