General Secretary of the biggest opposition political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is not working as promised.
According to him, the NPP always tries to divert the attention of Ghanaians from the hardship they’ve subjected the citizens to and so they focus on the frivolities.
He made this known while reacting to the government’s town hall meeting held in Kumasi where the government made known the various achievements it chalked out of the 388 promises made.
“The government is not working, the government is not doing any work. Every day, the government wants to draw our minds away from the promises of making life better for us and engage in frivolities”. He said
Mr Asiedu Nketia noted that Dr. Bawumia peddled falsehood because the data he presented to Ghanaians at the Town Hall meeting is not representative of what’s happening in the lives of Ghanaians.
In his view, the best yardstick to measure the performance of the NPP government is the living conditions of the citizens but with the current state of the Ghanaian economy, there’s a clear indication that the NPP government has failed.
On NDC providing contrary data to counter what was put out by the Vice President, he said the party does not need to respond to the challenge thrown to them by Dr. Bawumia to prove otherwise
“The data he presented during the Town Hall Meeting in Kumasi if compared to the living conditions of the people, his data is wrong”, he stated.
