Ex-Black Stars coach, James Kwasi Appiah has launched his much anticipated “Leaders Don’t Have To Yell” book with the first copy auctioned for GHC10,000.
The book was bought by the Chief Executive Officer of Taabea Industries, Dr. Christian Agyemang, Mypurefmonline.com reports.
The launch was held on January 24, 2020 at the Royal Lamerta Hotel in Kumasi and saw in attendance several dignitaries including the Ashanti regional minister Simon Osei Mensah who bought a copy for GHC2,000 and the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Asibey also purchasing same for GHC1,000.
Football legends like Opoku Nti, Papa Arko and Addai Kyenkyenhene now reverend minister graced the occasion with the latter sharing the opening prayer.
The chairman of the event, Victor Kwadwo Ademang, CEO of Biegya bitters in praising the dexterity of Kwasi Appiah got a copy for himself at GHC5,000 urging all to not hesitate in buying the book as it details the inside life of the country’s football.
Media giants like Lovin Cee, Sometimer Otuo Acheampong, Joe Lakka, Ashiebue, Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei and a host of many others were seen at the event getting copies of the book for themselves with old students from Opoku Ware School heavily represented.
Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei (Private Legal Practitioner and former Ashanti regional president of the Ghana Journalist Association) talking to the media after the event remarked that he is much enthused about the book as one cannot say someone who has spent all his life playing football at the highest level and coaching the game doesn’t know and understand football.
The “Leaders Don’t Have To Yell” book details the footballing career of the Ghanaian-born coach, from playing at the club side, the country’s senior national team, ‘Blackstars’, and later serving as its coach. He said in an exclusive interview on Pure Fm early Friday that he was inspired by the work of Manchester United’s legend, Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsenal’s icon, Arsene Wenger to come out with the publication.
The launch was compered by the Chief Operating Officer of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), Kwame Adinkra.
