Leaders must be punctual - Reverend Minister

Kumasi, July 19, GNA - A Reverend Minister has challenged the country's leaders to set the tone for time consciousness among Ghanaians.

The Rev Kwasi Addai-Baah, Chaplain of the Buokrom Methodist Christ Little Band, said, if leaders led the crusade by attending functions on tine, it would go a long way to change the attitude of Ghanaians. Speaking at the third anniversary of the Buokrom Aldersgate Methodist Christ Little Band in Kumasi at the weekend, he said since time was money there was the need for Ghanaians to adhere strictly to time.

The present situation, where people including high ranking government functionaries and others went to functions late must change, if the country was to move forward.

Rev Addai-Baah also called on Ghanaians to put up the right attitude to reduce the problems plaguing the country. He mentioned bribery, corruption, over-invoicing and under-invoicing as some of the serious problems drawing back the progress of the country and said there was the need to change. Rev Addai-Baah, who is also an Accountant at the Kumasi Polytechnic, asked small-scale entrepreneurs to develop the habit of saving by joining credit unions, which he described as the surest way of mobilising capital to support their businesses.

Mr Opoku Mensah, Chairman of the Band, urged parents bring up their children well and said the education of their children would determine the proper development of the nation.
