A former Minister of Environment, Science & Technology, Prof. Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has criticised the leadership of the country for not taking the fight against corruption seriously.
Prof. Frimpong-Boateng made this known during a discussion on TV3 where he addressed the issue of corruption in the country.
According to him, many individuals go into politics for their own interests instead of the betterment of the country.
“We are not serious about the corruption fight. Leading this country is not about satisfying your family alone and leaving the generation to suffer,” he said.
Prof. Frimpong-Boateng also lamented that the country’s leadership does not prioritise future generations in their actions and policies.
"We don’t have the crop of leaders who are ready to sacrifice for future generations. The young people of today have lost hope,” he asserted.
Prof. Frimpong-Boateng said this as the country gears up for the 2024 general elections scheduled for December 7.
Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will be competing against the NDC flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama; New Force Movement leader, Nana Kwame Bediako; Movement for Change leader Alan Kyerematen; and eight other candidates.
