The immediate past Chief of Defense Staff Vice Admiral Matthew Quashie has urged politicians to learn to control themselves as the nation gears up for elections in November.
According to him, recent spate of internal wrangling with attendant killings in political parties does not augur well for the country.
Speaking at a ceremony to hand over command to a new CDS, Air Vice Marshal Samson-Oje, Vice Admiral Quashie advised Ghanaians to help the security agencies to maintain the peace the country is enjoying.
"If within their own party they can do that how about if it is another party. They should learn to control themselves. They should learn to jaw-jaw instead of war-war," he stated.
Meanwhile, the military has dismissed reports that the command is recruiting personnel.
"What the public needs to understand is that you don't get recruitment information on WhatsApp. So that rumour going on, on WhatsApp is not true," Head of Public Affairs Col Eric Aggrey Quarshie said.
