It was a moment of honor as mother of the late Major Maxwell Adams Mahama was called to receive the honorary degree of her son from the Leicester University in England.
With a standing ovation and a resounding applause, the heads of faculty of the institution together with several graduands and graduates welcomed Veronica Bamford, mother of the late soldier for her son’s certificate.
The late Major Maxwell Mahama was a distance learning student in the school’s Criminology Department, reading for the degree of Master of Science (MSc) in Security and Risk Management.
He had enrolled in the Leicester University in 2015 but unfortunately passed away before his graduation held on July 13, 2017.
In the wake of his demise, the University of Leicester conferred a posthumous honorary degree on the late Major. Several Ghanaians graduated with various degrees at the congregation.
