Ejisu (Ash), Dec 26, GNA - Reverend Kwame Opoku, the Ejisu Circuit Supervisor of Ejisu-Juaben District Education Directorate has charged Christians to let the real meaning of Christmas celebration have a positive impact on their daily lifestyles instead of just merry-making. He explained that the birth of Christ was to bring peace, joy, love, unity and everlasting life to mankind, but the people of today have turned it into merry-making which was wrong.
Rev Opoku was speaking at a Christmas carols festival organised by the staff of the District Education Directorate at Ejisu on Monday. He said Christ came to the world as the salt and the light of the world and expected his followers to lead lives worthy of emulation, but some Christians were doing their own thing. He appealed to Christian workers to help fight bribery and corruption at workplaces.
Mrs Agnes Okyere-Gyamfi, the District Director of Education, commended the staff for their dedication and commitment to duty and asked them to continue improving the standard of education in the area. She thanked the district assembly for supporting the Directorate in its activities.
