Let God have the first word - Reverend Kwapong

Accra, April 24, GNA - Reverend Eric Kwapong, a Praise and Worship Leader of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), on Easter Sunday advised Christians to allow God to have the first word in all their endeavours.

He said it was only those who revere God and sought His guidance in all they did that would experience Him in truth and in spirit. Rev. Kwapong was preaching during the Resurrection Sunday service at the Christ Temple of the ICGC on behalf of Dr Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of the Church, who for the first time in 27 years is out of the country at Easter.

He said when Christians lifted their praise and worship to God, something inexplicable happens in the realm of the spirit and explained that worship was more than a praise song or music. Rev. Kwapong explained that kingdom labour, meaning service in the house of God, living a righteous life and praising God with songs and exhortations, formed the totality of worship and that is what pleases God.

"God derives his pleasure in our relationship with Him and the resurrection of Christ is for our redemption. Therefore, as Christians, we should live righteous and holy lives to enjoy that holy relationship with God," he said.

Rev. Kwarpong said: 93With the resurrection of Christ Jesus there will be no more shackles, there will be no more chains and there will be no more bondage. Christians are free and free indeed." With that message, the Praise and Worship Leader led the congregation into a spontaneous praise and worship moment in appreciation of God's love for mankind and urged Christians not to take worship for granted.
