Let’s accept Supreme Court verdict in good faith – Bishop

The Right Reverend Kofi Asare Bediako, Methodist Bishop of Sunyani, has appealed to Ghanaians to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court on the election petition in good faith for peace to prevail.

Rt. Rev. Asare-Bediako, who was addressing the 12th biennial delegates’ conference of the Sunyani Diocesan Methodist Youth Fellowship at Jinijini in the Berekum Municipality, said Ghanaians should not allow party politics to tear the nation apart.

More than 1,000 members of the fellowship from circuits in the Sunyani Diocese of the Church participated in the four-day conference, which was on the theme, “Mobilizing Our Resources for Ministry – the role of the youth.”

Rt. Rev. Asare-Bediako called on all Ghanaians to pray for the justices presiding over the election petition to be bold and impartial in the discharge of their duties.

He announced plans by the church to establish a multi-purpose vocational training centre in Sunyani to offer training and employment opportunities for the youth.

Brother Joel Afrifa, Sunyani Diocesan Chairman of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, advised the youth to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid inflammatory statements.
