Hon. Philip Kugbo, assemblyman for the Amasaman area has charged members of the community to make it a point to look after public property as if it were theirs.

According to him, whatever is considered public property should not be seen as the responsibility of those managing them alone, but rather facilities that everyone must ensure would last for generations unborn.

"We should all be concerned when public amenities are not well maintained, if we are not; we risk losing them after all the investments that have gone into putting them up, let us build a spirit of maintaining public amenities, it is in our own interest," he added.

He made this call during the inauguration of a 24-seater modern water closet facility for the Amasanam community. The facility was funded by Fozlab Company Limited, upon a request by some members of the society.

"The community had abandoned an old facility because of its perilous state and Fozlab took it on ourselves to provide this facility to serve the community," said Mr. Shaibu Ibrahim who is Director of Fozlab.

He also disclosed that all proceeds from the facility would go into maintenance of the place and also help in other infrastructural developments within the area.

He expressed gratitude to the chiefs and residents of the place for their support in successfully constructing the facility.
